Dan left school with ambitions of becoming a Math/P.E teacher.
Realising more time in a classroom wasn’t for him and following some sound advice from his late father, he sought out an electrical course at his local college in 2002.
Working 3 days with a local electrician , 1 day at college and the remaining 3 days at Asda stacking shelves, Dan started to carve out a love for the trade.
After 6 years with the same firm, Dan went self employed - many 90+ hour weeks and some tough lessons followed!
Now on the wrong side of his 30’s, Dan is a happily married man, living on a farm in Hereford.
What more could a man want!
Outside of work, his time is spent with his wife, Camilla, and young family, usually out walking, playing hide and seek, building sand castles at the beach or planting veggies…which seem to just feed the local fallow deer!
Dan is a keen cook, who enjoys gardening and the occasional spot of archery with his compound bow.
Despite endless protests - he's a fan of Country music!
For many years, Dan used to showcase his work in weekly uploads on YouTube. Being an electrician ‘YouTuber’ came with its fair share of critics - thankfully the response was generally always positive! This led to some great relationships with tool brands, other electricians across the country and the NICEIC themselves.
Blazing his own trail, back in 2017/8, Dan was the chosen contractor for a government backed trial installing battery storage systems up and down the country.
These days, he focuses more on domestic electrical work, giving him that variety he enjoys day to day!
